Engagement

EXPERTS AND EXPERIENCES
Research Advisory Groups
We have 3 Research Advisory Groups and will be collaborating with two key groups of experts:

People with Lived/Living Experience
People with personal experiences of perinatal opioid use or treatment for opioid use disorder. We will engage with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups in culturally safe and appropriate ways.

Knowledge Users
People who support the health of people and children with perinatal opioid use/exposure. This can include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, policy experts, public health practitioners, decision makers, and more. We’ve partnered with organizations that are leaders in maternal and child health.
To make sure we gather the most important and relevant information, our Advisory Groups will:
- Identify important measures of perinatal opioid use
- Identify research priorities
- Interpret high-level research findings
- Develop recommendations
- Co-create products and tools to share this information with the community!
Advisory Groups will meet 3 times a year over the project term (2025 – 2027).
If you think an Advisory Group is the right fit for you, or if you have any questions about the process, please Get in Touch with us!
Project Partners
We are proud to partner with leading organizations across Canada who have similar goals – to promote the health and well-being of pregnant people, parents, and children.
