Dr. Lauren Kelly

Dr. Lauren Kelly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Manitoba. She directs the Clinical Pharmacology Lab, focusing on pediatric and perinatal therapeutics, including studies on cannabinoids for medical use in children and opioid exposure during pregnancy. She also leads the Canadian Collaborative for Childhood Cannabinoid Therapeutics (C4T), a research initiative dedicated to the safety and effectiveness of cannabinoid use in children and co-leads POETIC (Perinatal Opioid Exposures, Insights, Trajectories and Concentrations). Dr. Kelly is a Certified Clinical Research Professional and serves as Clinical Trials Director at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Her work emphasizes evidence-based approaches and collaboration with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and families to improve clinical trial methods and drug safety in maternal and child health.
